The North County Estate Planning Council - San Diego, welcomes you to our November Meeting where we are thrilled to have one of our favorite Speakers, Tom Rogerson, back to continue with his discussions on what we call “Combating the Shirtsleeves to Shirtsleeves in Three Generations TRUTH”.
Independence is Killing American Families as Well as Their Estate Plans. What can be done?
&
A "FAST" Solution to Legacy Planning: the Family Advancement Sustainability Trust
Tom Rogerson, President and Chief Learning Officer of GenLeg Co., Inc. (Boston), will describe how too much independence is separating families to the point of estrangement. In wealthy families, it’s happening even faster, making it harder to maintain family ties and thus family assets. Why should you, as estate planners, care about this trend and what can you do about it?
Marvin Blum, JD, CPA, Founder and Managing Partner of The Blum Firm (Boston), will then discuss a new type of trust dedicated to saving the family called the FAST (Family Advancement Sustainability Trust). A FAST does two things—(1) it sets aside funds to pay for best practices learned from successful families, and (2) it puts a leadership structure in place to make sure these family enrichment activities happen.
See below for detailed speaker bios.
***This Presentation is a great opportunity for your wealthy Families to attend the meeting so they can learn more from THE experts in Family Business Succession Planning and Preparing the Family for the Wealth.****
